Belvédères Cap Gris Nez and Cap Blanc Nez
These two discovery walks take you to the top of the cliffs for breathtaking views over la Manche. In fine weather, you can admire the beautiful English coastline. During the walks, you can read a word about the history and nature of the area. They take about ½ hour each, more if you let yourself wander along the way. The walks are accessible to people with limited mobility and there is a car park nearby for easy access.
Waymarked walks along the coastal path and in the countryside
Our holiday home is the starting point for a number of footpaths that criss-cross the hilly hinterland, as well as the GR 120, which runs along the coast, overlooking the sea from the cliff top and taking you from Cap Blanc-Nez to Cap Gris-Nez for some breathtakingly scenic walks.
In the guidebook available at the holiday home, we've drawn up plans of our favourite walks.
The dunes of La Slack
The Slack estuary is the last natural estuary in the Boulonnais region and one of the richest marine environments in terms of biodiversity. The walk takes you along the beach at low tide and then into the Slack dunes nature reserve.
The Todt battery
The Todt Battery is a living museum where you can find out about the daily life of German troops and the famous battery that could send shells up to 42 kilometres, in other words, pound the English coast, 29 km from the Gris Nez!
The fortress of Mimoyecques
The fortress of Mimoyecques, also known as the London Cannon, was designed to house the V3 super cannon!

The scene of a turbulent history, this town boasts an astonishing heritage and a beautiful seawall where teenagers can enjoy the skatepark, children can play on the playgrounds, families can stroll and watch the ferries go by, and everyone can admire the splendid dragon that makes its appearance once a day at 2pm.
